The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Intern Orientation Programme was successfully held over two days at the Neuro Trauma Unit, National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL).
The programme was designed to provide dental interns with a practical introduction to the essential knowledge and skills required when working in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery setting.
Day 1 – Knowledge & Clinical Preparedness
The first day featured interactive sessions addressing key areas of OMF practice
Day 2 – Learning Through Simulation
The second day focused on hands-on simulation-based training, allowing interns to develop confidence in essential emergency and clinical skills:
Through a combination of interactive learning and practical simulation, the programme aimed to enhance clinical preparedness, strengthen patient-safety practices, and equip interns with greater confidence as they begin their journey in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
